MySpace doesn’t have to be a professionalism killer

Posted on January 23rd, 2007 by Tyme White in Business

I receive quite a few requests from companies or bloggers wanting me to look at their site and give them my feedback. Would I be interested in their services? Do I like their blog? Why/why not? Admittedly, I’ve been putting these on the back-burner because I still have a backlog of emails to answer. Girl [...]

Singular focus = better? Yes.

Posted on January 17th, 2007 by Tyme White in Miscellaneous

I was working on an article about focusing on true goals (the things we really want to do and how easy it is to be distracted) and an interview with John Furrier and Jason Calacanis came up on the playlist. Jason said something that I agree with totally (about 3 minutes in):

I know how people surf my site. Do you?

Posted on January 15th, 2007 by Tyme White in Miscellaneous

It amazes me how many bloggers spent an inordinate amount of time trying to improve their hits, comments, etc. that they forget the most important element in having a good blog. There were some very good questions brought up in the comments and I’d like to take this opportunity ask if you have any other questions? You have their ear, if you have questions, now [...]

What do you do if you get in a mess?

Posted on January 7th, 2007 by Tyme White in Miscellaneous

What do you do if, as a blogger, you get yourself in a mess? This happens with 9rules member more than you’d think but they aren’t as big or publicized as much as the Mashable mess. Usually it’s a bad comment causing a mob of criticism.
I know I am going to be asked, “Tyme what [...]

Instead of bashing, let’s learn something

Posted on January 7th, 2007 by Tyme White in Miscellaneous

As predicted, the Mashable/Pageflakes inflated stats issue was resolved. Seems the accurate number is 27K. So instead of bashing Mashable, which accomplishes nothing, what can we learn from this?
It’s good the truth came out
It is good that one site’s numbers were so outlandish it drew attention so the problem can be fixed. Yes, Mashable’s number [...]
