About

Welcome to Elixsir and all that ish…

There is this silly notion that a person that is a geek cannot be cool. Actually, the way it goes is that some geeks are the exception to the rule (for example, me) but most are socially awkward, introverted and uncool.

That may be true but I believe that everyone has a little coolness in them…along with a little geek. On this site, we’re going to have fun with that.

I’m Not The Normal Geek

Maybe as well get this out of the way. I’m not your normal geek. Instead of being socially awkward, I’m a social butterfly. I love gadgets and technology but I’m not obsessed with them. I’m not really a fan girl because those that cannot objectively look at what they are evangelizing are ass kissers.

I do not kiss ass.

I don’t like conferences because I prefer hanging out in Vegas…not talking about technology and geeky stuff. I’m a World of Warcraft nut but I’m not addicted to the game. My iPhone obviously accepts text messages but, particularly if I’m interacting with a guy, I prefer to hear his sexy voice than read his non-descriptive text.

I could go on but I really hate writing about pages. You have no idea.

What’s The Purpose Of This Site?

I used to have a gaming site with over 1M users. One of the things I loved about that site was how much fun I had while learning so much. It was the best of both worlds, being able to make a living doing something that was sinfully fun. I used to get up every day excited to hit the computer to see what was going on. Time flew (hahaha, yeah go ahead and laugh) because everyone was having so much fun.

Times have changed since then. People interact differently online than they did back then. People are more like to “like/dislike” or share content than comment on it. Think about it, on YouTube videos (for example) look at the videos that have a large number of views and compare views to comments. The percentage of comments vs views is low…but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun.

Just because people aren’t commenting as much does not mean they aren’t interacting. People have fun sharing the content. Posting it on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. and talking about it with their friends. This gives the content publisher more time to create new content. And, if the content publisher is friends with these people on these different social sites, then there can be lots of interaction all over. It’s like traveling, online style.

Oh yeah..what do I want to accomplish with this site? Well, let’s see…

The Goals of Elixsir
  • Have fun!
  • Build a community of supportive friends all over the world.
  • Learn lots of new stuff, explore cool technology, kick your ass in World of Warcraft (or try to not get my ass kicked on a 360 game from a cool geek)…
  • Did I mention have fun?????

The Point is…

This list is going to change as times change, people change, technology changes, etc. It’s going to be a wild ride. I suggest you hang on.

My name is Tyme White. I approve this message.
