You and your girl have been together for a while. You are blissfully happy and, what seems like all of a sudden, you’re having that dreaded “it’s over” conversation. What the hell happened?
You missed the signs.
Let’s keep it real, there are always signs there is trouble in a relationship. Be smart and recognize them because [...]

Google connects blogs and relationships with Social Graph API

Posted on February 5th, 2008 by Tyme White in Miscellaneous

Google launched Social Graph API. Using publicly available information, Google will begin to connect people and relationships/friendships from blogs and public social networks. As an example, let’s say you have a MySpace profile with friends. You would like to join Twitter and one of the pains of joining a new social network is building friendships [...]

Comments…lovely things they are until they become a pain in the butt. You know, the spam, the trolls…then the gray area – the people that disagree with you. What exactly do you “do” with people that don’t like you and what you write…and have the audacity to express that on your site?

I wrote in September about The Blog Experiment. I did not want to start the experiment until after I finished my thesis because it would have been an overload for me.
As a writer with diverse interests I tried to follow the rule: the more focused the content the more successful it will be. This led [...]

A visual aid to help explain what I meant about several points:

Blogs foster conversation.
If your blog doesn’t have comments, it’s not a blog.
If a blogger makes a mistake the blogger needs to correct it (not only the source).

That said, look at the graphic below (click to enlarge it).

It’s a screenshot of RSS Bandit, my RSS [...]

Commenting on ads – it's not new

Weblogsinc. announced they are going to launch Focus Ads, the ability for readers to respond and comment on ads. Nick Denton said it’s “Bold to the point of foolhardy”. Jason responded with a story that highlights the advantages to this type of communication.
Let me say first, it’s a great idea. It’s not a new idea, [...]
