In the last article I spoke making mistakes and moving past those mistakes. In this article, I go into more detail explaining why people usually fail when trying to recover from their mistakes and the key to truly overcoming bad times due to bad decisions being made.
Blogging, trust, and pseudonyms
The internet makes it easy for people to create a character online. Let’s take a look at someone doing this to see if it is a wise thing to do long-term.
Knowing when you are being played
Being played (taken advantage of) happens in business. Unfortunately, many people leave themselves open to it. Are you one of them?
Too pissed to think of a good title
I know, I said don’t write when you’re mad. I’m breaking that rule and I doubt I’ll regret it plus if I waited to cool off I’d probably be in a grave some place. The problem with online interactions is that people can misunderstand what is said. People with sense will ask for clarification. People with no sense will jump to crazy conclusions, act on them and won’t ask a thing. I have too many of those idiots in my life. And I don’t wanna hear the “it’s none of my business” excuse. If someone thinks I’m doing something completely out of character why the hell don’t they say something?
House: Season 5 Finale (now I know why people are screwed up)
The season 5 finale of House explained a lot about human nature. If you haven’t watched it you can view it on Hulu or read the recap. Let’s look at how people can be screwed up and how easy it can be to think you’re being realistic when you really aren’t.
Internet interactions: Stop being stupid
I know, this is the social era. Unfortunately, all people aren’t social. All people aren’t meant to interact publicly. Don’t be stupid.
Pesky little moral dilmemmas…
I talk a lot about ethics and morals in business but the reality is that moral and ethical decisions follow us every where. Let’s step out of the box a minute and think about morals and ethics in another venue: gaming. And how easily we can make excuses when we “want” something.
Failing: the addiction. The finale.
I wrote a series of entries How to Be Big and Fail based off a person in my life. I saw his mistakes and noticed, while going through blogs, the same behaviors carried into blogging. This makes sense because people usually don’t morph into completely different people (morals, ethics, interests, etc.) when they get online. [...]
Accepting reality, realizing perceptions
Driving along the same route you drive daily, seeing the scenery but not really paying attention, have you noticed something that you’ve never seen before? Then seeing that “new†thing that has always been there, you open your eyes and see little things you never noticed before? If you experienced this, did you then wonder [...]
