What you think vs. how things are

There are times when we see things clearly and there are times when see do not see situations realistically. I am sure we have all experienced situations where we notice our friends are not seeing things clearly, we try to explain it to them, yet they cannot see what we see (often until it is too late).

Admittedly, it is harder to see things clearly while we are experiencing them. Often…we do not look at the signs around us so we can see things clearly.

Resolving privacy/security issues: geolocation based services

When you leave your house, do you leave the windows open and doors unlocked? Why not? No one would know unless they tried to get in if they were truly open, right? When you park your car, do you leave it unlocked? Why not? No one would know unless they tried to break in, and what are the odds of that? When you leave the house, do you check into a geolocation based service to announce where you are? Why not? What are the odds of something bad happening, right? See the twisted logic? Tyme’s Thoughts: Dave Winer to stop blogging

EDIT: I kept comments closed on this entry because I knew there would be some drama (there always is) every time I say something nice about Dave Winer. He always ends up doing “something”. This time it seems he’s screwing over Rogers Cadenhead, which of course I don’t agree with if it’s true (according to [...]

Audible’s service – trouble ahead for podcasters?

Audible announced their new service, the ability to “measure” podcasts. It is based on technology already used by Audible for distributing magazines, books and newspapers in audio form (I don’t use Audible so it is already tracking people and do they know it’s doing that?). The idea behind this is that for podcasting there is [...]
