What do RSS, Twitter and World of Warcraft have in common?

In World of Warcraft I have tons of stuff to do. I can imagine some people complaining their is too much to do. I read an article today about RSS being a burden like email (and unlike Twitter) and I couldn’t help but laugh. Amazing how people place unnecessary burdens upon themselves.

Scrobble for blogs? I don’t think so…

Do I want every blog/site I visit tracked and published anywhere? No. Do I think sites I visit are necessarily worth “mentioning” on a blog/site? No. Am I so lazy that I won’t use something like StumbledUpon or Shared Items or Twitter things that interest me? No. Fred Wilson and I are obviously very different.

What you believe determines how you behave

I talked about consequences, anticipating the reactions to what you do, karma and change. Those are all entries about the end result of doing something. Let’s talk about why some situations happen in the first place. Swoozie finished a set of videos based on his experience with Sims Online. In Part 1 he explains how [...]

Um, what's your site about?

What do you want to write about? This is a common question writers ask. When I start a new project I take a lot of time trying to define what the site is going to be about because changing focus after you have readers might not be an easy thing to do. An example: There [...]

Facebook is laughing as they take in the cash

Last night I tried explaining Facebook to Justin (the man I’m seeing not my nephew). I repeated what I was told on 9rules, what I read elsewhere and my own experiences. He looked at me patiently waiting for me to get to the good part. He’s heard of it, he’s online, he’s geeky…one would think [...]

Snark has more weight when the person talking is successful

Must be nice, sitting on a throne throwing stones at everyone. I’m talking about Uncov. It’s been noted they have a start-up they are not tagging as Web 2.0 called Persai (gotta start distancing yourself from the Web 2.0 term, remember?). What is Persai? Who knows? At first I thought it was a killer RSS [...]
