What you think vs. how things are

There are times when we see things clearly and there are times when see do not see situations realistically. I am sure we have all experienced situations where we notice our friends are not seeing things clearly, we try to explain it to them, yet they cannot see what we see (often until it is too late).

Admittedly, it is harder to see things clearly while we are experiencing them. Often…we do not look at the signs around us so we can see things clearly.

Guest articles done the right way

Guest articles are popular. You know, when someone submits an article to be published on another site. Most I come across I can honestly say add no value to the site at all. They are clearly filler content aimed at the guest writer looking for exposure.

In this article I give an example of an excellent use for guest articles that not only enhance the site but help build the reader audience.

An honest look at personal brands and social media

Social networking tools are being used more and more every day. Unfortunately, what people do not realize is that by using these tools, they are creating a personal brand. A personal brand is simply what people think of you when your name is mentioned.

For those that do not realize they are creating a personal brand or worse, think that it does not matter, they are similar to the people who got themselves in debt when credit ratings first came out.

Online pricing: should the rich pay more?

Do people who make more pay more for goods and services? Of course they do. In some situations, this works and is the only way for companies to sustain themselves. Online companies usually do not have this excuse. Rarely do online companies have overhead that need to be increased based on income and rarely does the company owner have the knowledge of how much the consumer makes to accurately determine if their audience receives higher incomes. Scaling prices based on income can backfire if not handled properly.

Pre-ordering a game is supposed to be convenient. Not.

Pre-ordering was a convenient way to make sure consumers received their favorite games on launch day. It was easy, one could go in the store and pick it up or have it delivered. Things have changed. Store owners want you to come into the store and buy your game, and game publishers are backing their plays.

Type of site vs. income possibilities

The other day I wrote an article about truly being productive: making the right business decisions to reach your goals. Quite a few people asked me, “Tyme, couldn’t Marvin work out a deal with Apple?” and theoretically, it makes sense does not it? Apple users are loyal, Marvin has the following…why not? Let’s look at the situation more carefully.

Discipline and ambition

Knowing your strengths and weaknesses will help you to meet your goals. Taking an honest look at your personality type, and matching it with the goals or tasks at hand, will boost the odds in your favor for completing those goals or tasks. Are you a sprint, a fail starter or a long-distance runner?
