Can we talk about better aggregation now?

Posted on April 22nd, 2008 by Tyme White in Miscellaneous

From Dave Winer:
Yes, it serves me right, and I, of all people, know better, than to build a network on a single point of failure, depending on one company, that is known for producing unreliable systems in an industry with incredibly thin skin (how can they get better if they won’t listen). In other words, [...]

Feedster died and no one noticed

Posted on November 6th, 2007 by Tyme White in Business

For two days my Feedster feeds have been pulling errors. I’ve been trying to access the site…nada. I did a search on Technorati, there were no results. Nothing relevant from Google either. Perhaps it’s due to technical issues but two days is a long time to be down on the internet.
And no one say anything.

I communicate with my ad company, do you?

Posted on March 15th, 2007 by Tyme White in Business

Writers and bloggers will always be fascinated by statistics and I always recommend to use them as a guide, don’t get caught up in them because accuracy will always be an issue.
There is a problem: what do you do if you want to monetize your site and advertising companies you use rely on third party [...]

If A-listers stopped blogging for a week

Posted on March 24th, 2006 by Tyme White in Miscellaneous

Dave Winer poses an interesting question:
Wouldn’t it be interesting if every certified A-lister, by convention, didn’t blog during the third week of every month. What if that idea caught on?
Yes Dave, that would be interesting…in an amusing but disastrous type of way.

Memeorandum wouldn’t update for a week (and sites like them).
Many non-bloggers would have nothing [...]

How do you brand a common name?

Posted on December 9th, 2005 by Tyme White in Business

I decided to edit my Technorati watchlist. Usually I watch for the domain name but I decided to add my name to the watchlist. Good thing I did…check this out.

Autometer Old Tyme White – a bunch of spam blogs. Some of them were deleted but are still showing up on Technorati (to me this is [...]

Get an RSS feed

Posted on April 12th, 2005 by Tyme White in Miscellaneous

It really bothers me that almost a month later MultiCultClassics still doesn’t have an RSS feed.
It bothers me that the blogger isn’t listening to their readers using the tools that are available. Use PubSub or Technorati and see what people are saying about you. If you were, you’d know I wrote about this last month.
I [...]

Blog burnout

Posted on March 25th, 2005 by Tyme White in Miscellaneous

There has been a lot of talk about Robert giving up his link blog. I think it was time because he was spreading himself too thin. As per usual with blogs a conversation erupts and this one is about how time consuming a blog can be.
What I fail to understand is why people feel compelled [...]
